Solve for s. 4 + ((-8) + s) = 20

1. subtract 4 from both sides.
2.add 8 to both sides then you're left with s on one side and 24 on the other.
3. see if 24 really is the answer by putting it in the equation.

s=24

I know this one! You start by subtracting 4 from both sides of the equal sign/equation, which leaves you with -8 + s = 16. Then you add 8 to both sides, and you get the answer, which is s = 24!
