The jet stream is narrow bands of fast moving air in the upper atmosphere. They can span the entire planet and blow from west to east.
Trade winds are vast winds that blow predominantly from east to west over large areas, from the northeast in the northern and from the southeast southern hemisphere, within the lower earth’s atmosphere.
Polar easterlies are trade winds that blow predominantly in the high latitudes of the poles.
