Answer: The Southerners did not like Lincoln so their reaction when Lincoln was elected in 1860 was i guess bad. Lincoln argued at the fact he wanted to free slaves and ban slavery.
And the Southerners (back at this time) dealt with slavery they had slaves in their homes doing their dirty work.
