The Appalachian Mountains range from Maine to Georgia, and are the second longest in America, the first being the Rocky Mountains running from Canada to New Mexico. The Appalachian Mountains are almost 2,000 miles long, and the highest point, Mount Mitchell, elevates 6,683 feet.
