Harry had 4 times as many marbles as Ian. Harry had 1230 more marbles than Ian. How many marbles did they have altogether? please help me to answer this question.​

They had 2050 marbles altogether.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no. of Ian's marble be 'x'

No. of Marbles Harry has = 4x

4x - x = 1230
3x = 1230

x = 1230/3 = 410

Thus, No. of Harry's marbles = 4 x = 4 x 410 =  1640

Total no. of Marbles= 410 + 1640 =  2050
