So we can use this [tex]a \frac{b}{c} = \frac{(a \times c) + b}{c}[/tex]

So we get

[tex]3 \frac{7}{8} = \frac{(3 \times 8) + 7}{8}[/tex]

= [tex]\frac{24+7}{8} = \frac{31}{8}[/tex]
