I think you should be able to, but I think it would be better to keep it as a collectible or antique

Hello!

A U.S. dollar from any year should still be accepted when you purchase an item/service. It can still be spent in any American store that accepts cash. However, if you wish to save it as a collectible, you are free to do that as well! But if you choose to spend it, it will still be accepted.
