Is it really incorrect to start a sentence with “and”?

I don't think we can use "and" to start a sentence. Instead, we can use some transitions that have the same meaning as "and", such as additionally, in addition, moreover, furthermore, etc.

So yes, it is incorrect to start a sentence with "and".
