The digestive organ that is responsible for digestion and absorption of nutrients in earthworms is the intestines. The gizzard grinds up mixture that the earthworm ingests, crop stores food temporarily, hemphridia carries the excretory functions. The gangila is the mass of tissues containing many cells.
